About the Bookstore:
The Concordia Community Solidarity Co-op Bookstore (CCSCB) is pleased to offer a viable alternative to the corporate structure, putting students’ best interests above and beyond our own bottom line. As a not-for-profit alternative to corporate bookstores, we are conveniently located right on Concordia’s downtown campus at 2150 Bishop. Offering both new and used books, in addition to a wide variety of artisan consignments, we also boast the largest selection of sex and gender studies titles anywhere in Montreal.
Job Title: Assistant Bookseller / Volunteer Coordinator
Hours per week: Maximum of 15 hours /week.
Salary: $11.81 /hour
Start Date: Training / August 16th 2017
End Date: April 30th 2018

Primary Tasks and Responsibilities include:
- Customer Service, including Cash and General Store Maintenance;
- Scheduling, training and ongoing support of CCSCB’s Volunteer base;
- Development of outreach and volunteer recruitment strategies.
Job Requirements and Assets:
- Excellent time management skills, organizational skills; self-motivation and self-direction;
- Bilingualism (French [spoken] and English [spoken and written]);
- Strong communication skills, customer service skills;
- Ability to work alone and as part of a team;
- Ability to work with a computer (PC and Mac), Proficiency in Word and Excel;
- Highly organized and ability to multi-task is an asset;
- Interest in community-based groups and non-corporate, self-managed environment and principles is an asset;
- Experience in a bookstore is an asset;
About the Job Posting: The CCSCB is currently hiring worker-members for the 2017/2018 school year! We are looking for applicants for our “Assistant Bookseller / Volunteer Coordinator” position who have experience as a team leader and in customer service, consider themselves people-persons with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, spoken English and French, who are comfortable within both a Mac and PC environment, who have strong time-management and organizational skills, a sense of initiative, and knowledge and/or interest in not-for-profit organizations and co-operatives.
The “Assistant Bookseller / Volunteer Coordinator” is responsible for overseeing the recruitment, training, and scheduling of volunteers throughout the 2017/2018 year.
Applicants should be available between 10am and 6pm, Monday through Friday for a maximum of 15 hours per week.
